Tuesday Blues…

Tuesdays tend to be my worst days, due to a lack of classes and the WoW servers being down for weekly maintenance.  You would think this sort of thing would give me a lot of time to work, but I tend just to drift into comatose for the day.  Anyways, I decided that today would be the day I would change my life around and accomplish something… Which just means I’m going to waste my time playing Flash games instead.

Portal is one of my favorite games of all time and this little Flash version of it is an excellent homage to the FPS puzzle game by Valve, the creators of the Half-Life series.  If you haven’t already played Portal, stop reading this, go to your local video or PC game vendor and purchase the Orange Box.  Best $20 you’ll ever spend.

But we aren’t here to talk about the real Portal, but Portal – the Flash Version.  I know it was made by Armor Games, but I’m not sure who was the first to post the thing, if it was Newgrounds which their logo is right on the loading page.  I found the game on XGen Studios, which have some of the better flash games I’ve found online.

Again, back to the actual game!  Portal Flash is a simple side-scrolling portal based puzzle game.  It contains a lot of the ideas that made Portal so excellent and they really hit the humor just right.  The game really has some challenging puzzles and the whole agility aspect puzzles can lead to some really agrivating restarts.  Complaints aside, the game is a great time killer while waiting for things, like the WoW servers coming back online…
